1.1.1 Level 1 | |||
At Level 1 you can complete some basic tasks in their new language. Given adequate time and familiar cues, you can exchange greetings, tell someone who you are, where you are from, where you live, and name a number of familiar objects from your immediate environment. You can write some of the words you have learned. You can ask and answer simple questions about your daily schedule, about the weather and your favorite cuisine, music and more. You are able to write simple messages. At Level 3 you can handle a numerous tasks that are easy and involve straightforward social situations. Conversation revolves around predictable topics necessary for survival in the target language culture, such as asking for directions, getting around an airport or hotel, using the Internet or going to a restaurant. As a Level 3 speaker you will be able respond to simple, direct questions or requests for information. You can perform simple writing tasks. 1.2.1 Here’s the Situation | |||
Here you will just listen to the dialogues and get familiar with the sound of the language. You can play the dialogue as many times as you want and try to guess what it is saying before moving to the next step. Click on the “play” icon to hear the dialogue |

1.2.2 Here’s how to Write it | |||
This where you will see the written version of the dialogue in the language you are learning. You can play the dialogue again if you wish, just click on the Play button | |||
1.2.3. Getting the Meaning | |||
Here you will see the written version of the dialogue in the language you are learning and below the translation of the dialogue in the default language for translation so you can understand what that dialogue means. Please note that the translations ARE NOT direct translations. Use your fingers to scroll up or down to see more text You can also hear the dialogue if you wish by clicking on the Play button |

1.2.4. Now You Say It | |||
This is where you begin to practice your speaking skills with the dialogue sentence by sentence. Just click on the Play button to hear each sentence at a time. You should repeat each sentence out loud to begin training your pronunciation. You can repeat the same sentence as much as you want or go to the next sentence by clicking on the “forward” arrow. You can also check how the sentence is written by pressing the “Show Text” button. | |||
1.2.5. Now You Write It | |||
This section allows you to practice your writing skills. Press the Play button, listen to the sentence and write that same sentence in the box. After you finish, press “Check” button to see if you have made any mistakes. Click on the “forward” arrow to hear the next sentence.
Special Characters: You can access special characters/accents by holding the desired letter for some seconds. The special characters/accents options will appear on-screen |

1.2.6. Build Your Vocabulary | |||
This is where you can practice and increase your vocabulary. Click on each highlighted word to see alternative options. You can hear each of the words in the drop down box and the translation of each word will be inside the parenthesis. The translation is based on the language you have chosen to be the default language for translation. | |||
1.2.7. Let’s Practice 1 | |||
Here you will begin to practice what you have learned. Click on the answer that is the most appropriate response for each question or sentence. After you finish press “Submit” to check your responses. | |||

Now is your chance to interact with the community and get help from native speakers by submitting exercises to your friends for review. You will be able to see their written or spoken feedbacks on the TEACH section by clicking on any of your submissions. You should also contribute and review their submissions as well! 2. HELLO-HELLO FLASHCARDS | |||
With the flashcards feature you will be able to practice words and sentences to enhance your vocabulary. On the Helo-Hello.com website you are also able to create your own sets and view the sets created by your friends.
To access the cards, just click on the desired icon from the Flashcards Home Page. To flip the card and view the other side, just tap the card OR click on the “Flip card” icon. To view the next/previous card slide your fingers on top of the card from right-left to see the next card and from left-right to see the previous card OR click on the “next” or “previous” arrow. | |||
3. NOTES | |||
In any given lesson you can make notes. Click on the “Notes” icon, write your note and click on “Save”. You can access all your notes by clicking on the icon at the bottom navigation | |||
4. SETTINGS | |||
Default Language for Translation: You can choose the language you wish to see the translations in the app. Just click on “Settings” at the bottom navigation tab and select the language. | |||
